Silver Mountain #1

Silver Mountain #1 is the first of our Black Hills Cabins. It was originally built in the 1930s as a place for Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) crew members to call home after long days spent in the area constructing bridges, building parks, thinning trees, and mining rocks. This cabin was later renovated into a gas station in the 1960s for travelers heading to Mt. Rushmore.

Eventually, the cabin was moved to the beautiful property it sits on now, the future home of Silver Mountain Cabins.

Silver Mountain #1 is a beautiful, air-conditioned 1-bedroom cabin with 1 queen bedroom and 1 full bathroom, fully equipped with towels and linens. The living room includes a new comfortable queen size futon and a twin bed. The kitchen includes a fridge, sink, hotplate/toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes. 

Watch the sunrise and set over the beautiful Black Hills while you enjoy a large covered porch with patio furniture and a gas grill. It’s the perfect place to sit back and relax after a long day of touring the Black Hills and visiting the area's attractions.
